Let’s Talk Climate Change

Global targets to limit the worst effects of climate change will require more ambitious actions across all areas of human activity. The WTO’s Jessica Hermosa and Daniel Ramos explain how trade is part of the solution.
Trade is a booster for climate action. It facilitates the movement of environmental solutions across borders. Trade also creates the possibility to move goods from carbon-efficient producers to other places. Transporting food often causes significantly less emissions than producing it.
Enhanced cooperation among WTO members on trade-related climate measures can help limit the increases in global temperatures.
